NEWSFLASH - NEW RULES FOR PURCHASING YOUR ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ROD LICENCE
From Saturday 1 April 2017 the Environment Agency are implementing changes to how you purchase your one day and annual fishing licences.
In the past we have been able to supply you with your licence on the day you have visited any of our fisheries, as we were one of many national authorised agents on behalf of the Environment Agency.
From 1 April the Environment Agency have taken the decision not to renew agency agreements. This means you will have to purchase your licence direct from them in advance of your visit to our sites.
To purchase your licence online visit www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence. You can also purchase over the phone by calling the Environment Agency fishing licence service on 0344 800 5386 or from a Post Office Branch.
We would like to remind our customers that this is a legal requirement and we would recommend that you purchase an annual fishing licence.
2017 NW WATERSIDE PARKS FISHING SEASON
Our 2017 fishing season started on Saturday 11 March. Please click here for a download of our Waterside Parks and Fishing Guide for 2017.
2017 price freeze and free parking
We are pleased to announce that for this season we can maintain the eight fish catch limit without increasing our permit prices. We can also confirm that the new car park charges are included in the cost of your permit, so you do not need to purchase a car parking ticket when fishing. It is not easy for us to meet the costs of sustaining our fisheries therefore we look forward to your continued support.
2017 opening times
This season we have made some changes to our opening times at Fontburn, Derwent, Grassholme and Scaling Dam and our fisheries and visitor centres will be open from 8.00am each day Monday to Friday and from 7.00am on Weekends and Bank holidays. These changes will help us to be more efficient and contribute towards maintaining our catch limits and permit prices at 2016 levels.
This season we will be introducing more rewards for our loyalty card holders. To compliment our existing scheme where you receive a credit each time you purchase a fishing permit towards your free day, you can now earn extra credits on retail items. If you spend £20 or more with us on the day you fish on retail items you will earn an extra loyalty credit towards your free days fishing. Extra credits can be earned on any single retail purchase above £20 and will increase by one credit for every additional £20 you spend. (Terms and conditions apply, please see our website for further details.)
