NORTHUMBERLAND

Fishing in Northumberland

Home to three of our reservoirs, Northumberland is a truly stunning place. It is the most sparsely populated county in the country which makes for stunning interrupted views and has become home to many artists who were inspired by the countryside such as the world famous gardener Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown who was born at Kirkhale.

Our Kielder reservoir is located close the Scottish Border and is perfect for a day of fishing or a fishing break. It is set within the heart of our award winning lodges and is a perfect family location with its onsite pub and range of activities. Whittle Dene is set further towards Tyneside and has three lakes to coarse fish in beautiful unspoilt countryside, it’s ideal for a peaceful days fishing. Fontburn is perfect for family orientated fishing, it is a smaller fishery and is located close to Rothbury.
