Fishing in Teesdale
Teesdale is set within the east side of the Pennines with large parts of it falling within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty – the second largest AONB in England and Wales. It is full of spectacular scenery and has an area of dedicated National Nature Reserve close to Cow Green.
Two of our reservoirs are based within Teesdale; Grassholme and Hury. Grassholme is one of the top any method fisheries in the country and offers spectacular views of the surrounding scenery. Hury is exclusively a fly fishery and is ideal for traditional fly anglers who like to fish with wet and dry flies as well as lures.
We also have four of the best wild brown trout fisheries in the country set in Teesdale; Cow Green, Balderhead, Blackton and Selset. The trout in these reservoirs are 100% native and there is no better way to spend a day than catching these fantastic fish surrounded by the rolling countryside.
